Before I got pregnant I was fit and happy size ten. I worked out early in the morning 4 times a week and relaxed at the weekend. I exercised all through my pregnancy right up to the day before I gave birth and fully expected to be back doing pilates and light aerobic exercise after my 6 week check up. But nothing prepared me for a son who didnt sleep until he was 4 months old! And the extreme juggling act that is full time work and motherhood which commenced when my son was 6 months.

Another year passed in a flash and suddenly I was a very unfit size 12-14 and not happy at all! I had read about Ellisstcokwell in a couple of magazines and liked the idea of working out intensively for a short period of time rather than prolonging the agony for several months and decided to sign up for the 6am slot, three times a week. Training with Paul and Tom has been a revelation. I wish I had found them ages ago and then I wouldn't have wasted my time exercising so inefficiently for the last 15 years. They work you hard - it's definitely tough - but both of them are brilliant at finding out where your limits are and pushing you just that little bit further. They change your workout every day which is invaluable if you have a low boredom threshold and in the moments where you can catch your breath - it's a really good laugh. To optimise your results you've got to stick to what they tell you to eat and for most of the 6 weeks I was hungry, cold and knackered. But boy - has it been worth it!

Training with Paul and Tom has completely changed my attitude towards exercise. Before signing up with them I’d been one of those people who’d half heartedly gone to the gym – thinking I’d done really well if I’d managed to go for two 1-hour sessions in a week – and never really pushed myself once there. I had every good intention but always “failed in the execution” mostly because I did the same thing every time I went and found it incredibly boring!
Getting into a regular and intensive training programme with Paul & Tom was very easy and because I saw results pretty quickly, I was really motivated to keep at it.
About 6 weeks into my training, I got engaged – and what better incentive to stick with it than a wedding in 6 months’ time?!! What’s really worked for me is the variety – having two trainers who put together different training sessions each time has meant that I haven’t felt like I’ve been getting stuck in a rut or been bored by a repetitive workout. And it’s not just about the exercise – they’ve also taught me about nutrition and it’s a combination of the diet and exercise that gets the results.
This has now become a way of life for me. Outside of my training I actually look forward to going to the gym and feel out of sorts if I don’t exercise - and I never thought I’d be the kind of person who felt like that about working out!

I had tried all sorts of things to get myself back in shape having spent the last 7 years building a family and then hitting 40, middle age spread had set in. I felt sluggish, I looked old and tired and my sex life was suffering. I was a model for 15 years and then stopped at the age of 34 to have my first child. After having my 3 children over a period of 4 years and no exercise, I felt overweight, unfit and depressed about my body which had once been in very good shape!

Then I bumped into an old friend of mine who had been training with Paul and Tom for 3 months and looked fantastic, she had lost weight, had great tone and looked radiant. That was enough convincing for me, and I rang them straight away! I have been training with them for 6 months, but just after 6 weeks I had lost weight, toned up and dropped a dress size and felt like a new person not only physically but mentally to. As personal trainers go, Paul and Tom are on a different level. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable, yet down to earth and friendly. They never seem to become complacent with their clients, always ensuring that every session is fun, challenging and interesting.
I started training with Paul and Tom about six months ago and my body has never been as fit and toned as it is now (still room to go though!). I have used personal trainers a few times before and have always found that both I and the trainer lose momentum pretty quickly.
Paul and Tom keep mixing the training up so you don't get bored, and keep adjusting the intensity as your strength and fitness improves. Their training system works well for me simply because I enjoy it and therefore I keep going (which never happened before). I cannot recommend Ellis Stockwell Training more highly!

I have been training with Paul and Tom for over a year now and am very pleased with the results I have achieved in both toning and my overall level of fitness.
Paul and Tommy are very good at mixing up my sessions - keeping it interesting and also ensuring that I do not become complacent.
They are great fun to work with and are very skilled instructors. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to get in shape or just tone up. You will not be disappointed!

I never thought I would get a personal trainer; they seemed really expensive and time consuming. I tried a free trial with a trainer at my local gym, and it was totally pointless.
But after having three kids in five years, I couldn't get into any of my old clothes and, even two years after my last child, couldn't shift the extra weight whatever I tried.
Then a friend told me about Tom and Paul; she also had three young children, and after training with them for six weeks she seemed almost a different person. So I signed up and, after one lot of 20 sessions, have dropped a dress size and can finally get into my pre-baby clothes. And I feel fit for the first time in my life, as well as being much less stressed. I hadn't believed that exercise could make that much of a difference, but I've totally changed my mind.

My friends back in NY (and at work here in London) wanted to know the secret to my success, which was all due to Paul and Tom. Unfortunately, I back slid when I moved back to NYC for a year. There is no point in lying; it's definitely a love-hate relationship training with Paul and Tom.
I hate the effort getting to the gym after a hard day, I hate being pushed right to the limit that you are constantly questioning why you are putting yourself through this, I hate all the hard work. However, I love that I manage to survive every session and that’s an accomplishment, I love that even though your head is always saying no way - your body manages to do it, I love the results, I love that I am full of energy and fitter then ever before, I love the confidence it has created in me, I love it when friends say I’m like a fine wine improving with age and looking better than I did 10 years ago, but most importantly I love the belief, passion and enthusiasm Paul and Tom generate in every session.
Needless to say it is a healthy love-hate relationship. They really do care in achieving results-I love these guys!

Getting back into shape after a baby is every woman's worst nightmare. Sleepless nights and total exhaustion don't exactly inspire you to head to the gym. The only chance you've got of sticking to a routine and busting your post baby gut is if you try and make the whole ordeal enjoyable. I never doubted I'd get the results doing my six week course with Tom and Paul but I hadn't expected to enjoy it so much. I really think the only way I managed to be so disciplined and stick to it when all I wanted to do was sit on the sofa most days was because it was fun - really bloody hard work but fun.
The eating plan also forced me to eat properly when I had been living off a diet of rich tea biscuits and peanut butter kit-kats to get me thought the sleepless nights.
